Once you’ve achieved your healthy weight, make the transition to lifelong healthy eating. For those on the Optimal Weight 5 & 1 Plan®, you’ll want to follow our six-week transition phase prior to starting the Optimal Health 3 & 3 Plan. The idea behind the transition phase is to gradually increase your calorie intake over time, while reintroducing a wide variety of foods. Once you’ve completed the transition phase (Optimal Weight 5 & 1 Plan only), the Optimal Health 3 & 3 Plan will help you sustain your healthy weight. This plan focuses on nutritionally balanced, small meals eaten every two to three hours, while integrating more food choices in the right portions. It’s easy to follow the Optimal Health 3 & 3 Plan, just consume three OPTAVIA Fuelings and three balanced meals daily.
To get started with this plan, follow these 3 easy steps:
- Calculate your Total Energy Expenditure (TEE), which is the number of calories you burn each day. Visit OPTAVIA.SG for our energy expenditure calculator.
- Choose your meal plan based on your TEE. Our accredited dietitians have developed a variety of meal plans ranging from 1,200 - 2,500 calories. Visit ANSWERS-SG.OPTAVIA.com to check out the various delicious meal plans available here.
- Familiarize yourself with your plan's food groups, which include a combination of fruits, dairy, starches, proteins, fats and vegetables. To add variety, select foods from our Healthy Exchange List.
